Erica Preus is a professional makeup artist born, raised, and residing in Southern California. Before embracing makeup artistry as a full time career, Erica was a devout academic, graduating Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from UCLA in 2007 with a BA in English and a minor in Classical Civilizations with an emphasis on Greek Mythology. Almost immediately after graduation, using her theatrical background in competitive dance as a springboard, Erica began working as a freelance makeup artist. In addition to being a Master Graduate from the world-renowned Cinema Makeup School in Los Angeles, she has since lent her freelance talents to many of the most prestigious names in cosmetics, including Make Up For Ever, Lancome, Amika, Bobbi Brown, Giorgio Armani, Calvin Klein, Smashbox, Benefit, and Clarins. Her work has also been showcased in numerous artistic avenues, including editorial, film, music videos, fashion, weddings, private events, and TV shows such as American Horror Story, Access Hollywood, EXTRA, and Good Day LA. She has worked alongside celebrities like Dwayne Johnson, Jane Seymour, George Takei, David Spade, Christopher Walken, and many more. Erica's ‘makeup mantra' is based on ALWAYS achieving a perfect skin match (the cornerstone of any makeup genre, whether it's beauty, character, or FX) then using that solid base to enhance a beautiful face one day, and bring a terrifying monster to life the next. She also continues to use her English degree by writing articles for beauty magazines, and most recently, editing the best-selling Monstrous Makeup Manual Volume II. Erica is available for work in TV, film, print, fashion, bridal, character, FX, hair styling, or pretty much anything you might want to throw her way! Please email at for bookings.
